3 Ways for the Modern Woman to Concealed Carry
You keep your firearm for extra safety and protection, and concealed carrying brings you security and peace of mind everywhere you go. Depending on your wardrobe, it can be difficult to choose clothing that will suit your concealed carry style. If you’re struggling to find a position that works for you, here are three ways for the modern woman to carry.
Purse Carrying
Gun concealment purses have been popular for years, and rightfully so — these purses provide plenty of cover for your firearm without the need for a body strap or belt while still serving their purpose as a tote. Your firearm won’t be as readily accessible in a purse as it would be on your body, but it will eliminate the issue of printing. Concealed carry purses come in a variety of sizes and styles, so it’s easy to find one that works for you.
Thigh Carrying
Offering plenty of concealment and ease of access, a thigh belt is great if you frequently wear dresses or skirts. Wearing longer or tighter skirts can make it difficult to reach your firearm, so loose knee-length options tend to work better with this position. As long as the strap is fitted comfortably to your leg, there are minimal issues with comfort.
Appendix Carrying
Appendix carrying is great if you wear pants or shorts with a belt and want a solid blend of concealment and accessibility. It can be hard to reduce print in this position, so try to wear loose shirts or throw on a jacket if possible. Be sure that your belt is comfortably fitted while still securely holding your firearm, and slide your belt buckle to one side if need be.
Remember, safety is number one when carrying — no matter how you choose to do it, always keep your firearm in an approved holster.
